T’was a night in December, a night to remember,
A census the King had declared.
“to the place you were born!” so from their homes they were torn,
the wrath of the king, to be spared.
-
“No room at the inn!” People crowded the streets
seeking a place to stay.
But gone almost un-seen, for it was “far too unclean”
Was a stable that smelled of old hay.
-
Under a star shining brighter, a husband held tighter,
The hand of his wife in pain.
The time was come, God had a son,
Emmanuel – God with us named.
-
To Him was giv’n the one key to heav’n
The Prophecy to fulfill
in mercy and love, God sent from above
His Son to do of His will.
-
Fully human and fully God,
the Son of Man – without sin.
His work rejected, His words dis-respected
By even the most pious of men.
-
T’was a night in December, a night to remember,
The voices of angels were heard.
The shepherds informed, by the angels were warned
Of Christ the Savior’s birth.

Yes, I did, actually… I’ve written a few poems and posted them here, but, i’m definitely nothing of an experience poet, to be sure.
I’d love to read your poetry, do you have a blog?
I’m definitely glad you dropped by! Thank you for the encouraging comment!
